Visit Santa in Lapland :
Make it an unforgetable Christmas for the whole family, you can meet Santa, his reindeers and the elves in a real WinterWonderland!
Many activities are organised in the area for young family members and for the older ones too. The little kids can visit Santa in his workshop and see the elves working hard. But there is more to Lapland, you can also experience a real white Christmas with lovely twinkling lights on every street corner and see the magical Northern Lights!
Shopping trip in New York :
Christmas is a great time to visit New York city! You can see the famous Rockefeller tree all lit up and go ice skating in Central Park! Do some shopping and admire the window displays at Macy's and Saks Fifth Avenue. Go to the top of the Empire State building to see the razzle dazzle of the town. And if that hasn't got you into the Christmas spirit, I'm sure the carol singers on the street corners will!
Need sun :
A white Christmas isn't for you... you feel like you need a beach break? Somewhere you can wear your Santa hat while sitting by the sea drinking a cocktail... You could go to the Canary Islands for a week, at a short distance but still nice weather guaranteed in December. It is also possible to find cheapish flights for this destination so the lively resorts of Playa del Inglés might just be there for you.
Skiing in the Alps :
It's a good year to go skiing with record snowfalls so you are guaranteed to slide the slopes! While you are there why not have some mulled wine and fondue! You can sit by the fireplace of your cottage after a long sporty day! Most villages and towns will have christmas markets for you to walk around on your less active days.

This year, like every year, I’m staying in snowy/rainy Belgium. Because we have an obliged Christmas visit to my grandparents, that’s tradition. Don’t get me wrong! I love these visits this time a year, not only for the good food but also for the family chaos. It’s one of the few times we get to see each other crowded in one room: drinking, singing, eating and laughing. I would love to go to Lapland and visit Santa, but not as much as I love to play party games with my loony family.

ReplyDeleteIm going to england but it's pretty much the same family chaos and loads of games going on in the dining room after the traditional lunch of course!
But it will be nice to have a break from college... ;-)
